2008 Christmas Brunch at 'Three Generations Tea Room'

If you have any pictures you would like added, email them to me.

We were invited to attend a Christmas Brunch at Three Generations Tea House on Jackson Street in Starkville. Every year Paige Lawes provides wonderful entertainment during the '12 days of Christmas'.
This was my second year to attend and I again found it a delightful experience. Our entertainment was provided by Paige herself. She is a retired history teacher and she gave a talk on the history of the customs and traditions of Christmas. Paige is truly a talented and gracious hostess and I'm sure her students loved her.
We were signed up for December 6, 2008 a Saturday for brunch and entertainment from 9:oo to 11:oo and it turned out to be a beautiful day.
Twelve of our Sassy Sirens were there including our Queen Merry Maker, Jerrie. We were so glad she was able to join us. Those attending the brunch were Queens Jerrie and Virginia, Lisa, Lady Mary, Mary West, Vice Queens Barbara and Bonida, Mildred, Millie, Joyce, Norma and Linda.

If you have never been to Three Generations, it is truly a treat, especially if you like to "dress up", eat and just have fun.

Queen Merry Maker

Please prayer for our Queen.

Is that lady still standing behind me?

Grandmas

The doctor that had been seeing an 80-year-old woman for most of her life finally retired. At her next checkup, the new doctor told her to bring a list of all the medicines that had been prescribed for her.
As the young doctor was looking through these, his eyes grew wide as he realized she had a prescription for birth control pills.
'Mrs. Smith, do you realize these are BIRTH CONTROL pills?’
'Yes, they help me sleep at night.'
'Mrs. Smith, I assure you there is absolutely NOTHING in these that could possibly help you sleep!'
She reached out and patted the young Doctor's knee.
'Yes, dear, I know that. But every morning, I grind one up and mix it in the glass of orange juice that my 16 year old granddaughter drinks.
....and believe me, it helps me sleep at night.'

You gotta love Grandmas!

Old Venice 07

I love Old Venice. The food is always good, the atmosphere lively and friendly and they let you color on the tablecloths!

Old Venice with a visiting chapter from West Point.

They were the Butteryfly Girls (?) We should do this again.

Only picture I have and Jerrie took it, ha, ha!

My Favorite Things

My Favorite Things?
Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes leak,When the bones creak,When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets, and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pains, confused brains, and no fear of sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.........
When the joints ache,When the hips break, When the eyes grow dim,
That’s when I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel soooo bad!

Halloween 08

Joyce, the Queen of Shoeba, invited the Sassy Sirens to her chapter's 2008 Halloween Party in Columbus. It was hosted by her sister Anna. Mildred, Virginia and I joined in the fun.
They say "A picture is worth a thousand words"
Not much tricking but plenty of treating! We also had a delicious brunch.

Our hostess Anna, in the purple wig, with her Mom and Sisters. Thanks Anna!

We made Halloween bracelets and played "pin the lips on the diva"!

Norma,Heather and Joyce.
I don't think it's that she's so tall, but that.......LOL.

Beautiful flapper, Joyce. Thanks for inviting us!

This was an invitation we were glad we accepted. What fun!
